His Almighty Right Hand...

Psalms 89:21- "My hand will support him, and my arm will strengthen him." By the powerful hand of God, David was able to become a powerful Warrior, rising from his mere job of herding. The main attribute of God that we see in this simple verse is God's unconditional love. Believe it or not, in the midst of our crumbling society, falling into wickedness, Christ's love is more alive than ever. If God strengthened & supported David out of love, we know he will strengthen and support us because the bible clearly states that God loves all of his children.  We must understand that God's almighty right hand is leading us on a beautiful journey. He will lead us through challenges, as he did David, to help us gain the strength and support we need to change the world.  Romans 8:3-4 says,
"3 Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,
4 and endurance, character, and character, hope.

We must accept that this journey of life isn't all rainbows and butterflies. Society is going to throw us all on the ground and try to stomp out all of our faith and dedication to Christ. The hand of God will sometimes create obstacles, but we must know that good things will come later. Even if we die on our journey with God, we mustn't forget that God will be wrapping us in his fatherly embrace in Heaven! No matter what, the hands and arms of God are leading us, and with that sort of protection, nothing can attack our soul.

Internal Storms...

I think we can all agree that yesterday was ugly. The storms, the high winds, the hail...we woke up this morning to a mud-hole in our yard, and we witnessed a fallen tree on our neighbors driveway. It's frustrating.  For many of us, May is one of the busier months, in which sports start up, events need planned, and life just seems to be on overdrive. As each of us experience our own mental and spiritual storms, we must remember that they are temporary, and the stress they drench us in will soon evaporate, and give us a break.

"You're such a Hypocrite..."

I hear this phrase a lot. Believe it or not though, most of the time the accusers are right. (Although if you think about it, the accusers are being hypocrites.) I am one who gets ensnared in the moral trap of hypocrisy on a daily basis. It's when I feel the urge to give a bit of helpful advice, and it comes out as a condemning statement, imperative and commanding.  What makes this hypocrisy is the fact that most of my advice I haven't even applied to myself yet. Jesus makes it clear on multiple accounts that hypocrisy is wrong. For example, Matthew 7:5 says, "You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye."  As the verse commands, we must first learn our own lesson, and only then can we apply what we've learned to someone else in need of help.

Entire Restoration

The day is approaching, sprinting through time, about to land right in front of us.  It could be a single day, a year, a millennium. No one knows, but the day is moving closer and closer, and isn't all that far away, compared to Heaven's infinite span. The 2nd Coming will be God's chance to rebuild his mighty kingdom and carry out his perfect plan.  Not knowing when that day could arrive, it only makes sense that we spread the Gospel everywhere we go, and serve as a shining light to non-believers.  The day is coming, whether you want it to or not, and every man will be judged. It's a reality that is often forgotten, but must be remembered.

Count Your Blessings

It's the classic bit of advice a mother gives to her worried child. It's the phrase that brings many children to a special kind of peace, as they see how blessed they really are.  This phrase is a foundation to finding real peace. If we want to be at peace in Christ, we have to know that God is in 100% control, and part of this trust comes from seeing how God has already blessed us in our past.  We are often blind to the true amount of blessings surrounding us in a veil of hope. Try to count yor blessings today, and get closer to that full trust in Christ.

Scribbled Out~

It's when people try to sketch out their whole life on paper that I become irritated. Yes, this means I become irritated with myself. Those times when I think I know exactly what is going to happen in the next five years of my life. I was sketching out my short little life on a post-it-note...capable of being ripped from it's surface and crumpeled into nothingness.  I am thankful for God stepping in and scribbling out what I thought my life would become, before the plan I had was ripped away, and I felt lost. Rather than a post-it note, God uses an infinitely large canvas to paint my life and tell my story. What a difference! As humans, we can't even comprehend how important our life is to God. He is painting each of us out in our own personal color palette, so we don't have to worry about planning out a life bound by sin.

Stuck in Fast-Forward

I'm a future thinker to an extreme. I always wonder what mysteries lie in the wake of tomorrow, and I obsess over what big hurdle will walk into my life next.  It's tough-like I'm stuck in fast forward.
But this kind of thinking isn't want God wants for us. Matthew 6:34 says this, “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." These words preach it all. We can't be stuck in fast forward our whole lives.  Eventually we have to buckle down and just hit the play button.
